Nobody is claiming responsibility for this crime against nature, in which more than 30 lovely old live oak trees were hacked essentially limbless. Ironically, the trees resided on Forest Lane in Dallas, Texas. It's possible this was done to provide better viewing of a future commercial establishment (a storage facility - something everyone wants to see!) from the freeway.

It's really sad, and this episode is probably a serious code violation. It was done without the required permit. I hope whoever ordered this massacre of trees - which may not survive the ordeal - is prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

And personally, I hope they make them pay to remove these desicrated trees properly, that something lovely and meaningful is made from the remaining wood, and that the perp(s) have to personally plant and water/care for new trees until they reach maturity. (Not holding my breath on that.)

Read more here and see several photos of this disgrace.
